AUTODROME MEETS FERRUCCIO LAMBORGHINI'S TEAM NEAR VERONA (28-29 September)

Ferruccio Lamborghini.

A few of the fine automobiles parked during the Lamborghini meeting.
AUTODROME was invited to a really unique event : a friendly gathering of all the people who made the Lamborghini legend. Paolo Stanzani, Giotto Bizzarini, Ubaldo Sgarzi, Claudio Zampolli, GianCarlo Guerra, Orazio Salvioli, Fabio Lamborghini, Umberto Marchesi (chassis manufacturer) are only a few names among Ferruccio Lamborghini's Team that came to Sant'Agata for this exceptional days.
From L to R . 1- Neldo Levy (Autodrome) and Cesare Lodi, former Lamborghini test driver . 2- Edmond Ciclet, former Lamborghini France Technical Director talks to N. Levy and Paolo Stanzani, who designed the Miura with Dallara, and the Countach, and Lamborghini CEO in the 70s. 3- Michel Levy (Autodrome) with Giancarlo Guerra, former Scaglietti Head, who then was in charge of the Countach bodywork shop at Lamborghini. 4- M. Levy with Ubaldo Sgarzi, former Lamborghini and Pagani Commercial Director. 5- M. Levy with engineer Giotto Bizzarini who designed the first V12 Lamborghini after designing the Ferrari GTO. 6 - M. Levy with Paolo Stanzani, "God" for many Lamborghini lovers.
This gathering was focusing on people rather than cars, and very different from other events. It is very important to listen to all these key players of a period now gone, so as to record and preserve all the available information on the History of Lamborghini. This avoids all risks of distortion or mishandling of essential historical information. As Lamborghini collectors and historians, we have always strived to stay in direct contact with the former Lamborghini people, and we will continue to update and complete available information on this magical period.
The Lamborghini 350 GT of Edmond Ciclet (former Technical Director of the Lamborghini network in France).
This car is one of the earliest Lamborghini in existence, and it is of course in perfect condition : 1200 km, and back were just a warm-up.
As anticipated, this magnificent classic won the most sought-after prize of the best Lamborghini at the meting..
We also had the opportunity to talk Mr. Pasolini, the man who was in the mythical Miura Jota when it "took off" in the accident that destroyed it completely. Mr Pasolini woke up at the hospital, and very luckily alive. The Jota inspired the creation of the rare Miura SVJ, a model which was never in the Lamborghini catalogue, but wich is now the most sought-after of all Lamborghini. Only one Miura SVJ was built as a Spider, and we are finalising the complete restoration of its superb bodywork.

LAMBORGHINI PRESENTS THE "REVENTON"... "INSPIRED BY AERONAUTICS"
At the Francfort Motor Show, Lamborghini presents another modified Murciélago : the Reventon (name of a bull who managed to kill its aggressor).
Presented as a new car, it's merely a "tuned" Murcielago (10 more HP..), wrongly described by the Lamborghini Marketing as "exploring a new sphere, modern aeronautics". This inspiration is in fact not new at all: back in 1998, the V12 Pregunta Roadster was presented, developed in collaboration between Lamborghini and Marc Deschamps, former Bertone's Head of Style.
This V12-Lamborghini powered Prototype was indeed officially presented together with the French Dassault RAFALE fighter plane...This was the first true inspiration of a Lamborghini by modern aeronautics. The first Countach was also pictured together with and aircraft (a regular airline plane). So the Reventon is nothing new, both a face-lift of the Murcielago (still 1,7 ton) with a fancy digital dashboard display and recycling Aircraft inspiration already explored by the old Lamborghini firm.
One Million Euros before tax is a lot of money for a "special" edition. True enthusiasts will certainly rather choose an authentic classic Lamborghini.
The Lamborghini Pregunta, presented in 1998 (Geneva Motor Show), photographed with the Rafale fighter (Avions Dassault).
The Pregunta also was the first one to use an almost matt paintwork - a "stealth" finish from combat aircrafts.
The face-lifted Murciélago (1,2 M€)... or the authentic prototipo V12 Diablo-powered PREGUNTA - created when Lamborghini was still Lamborghini ?
The style of the PREGUNTA Roadster, combining agressiveness and beauty, is extremely original and perfectly in line with the Lamborghini tradition.
This prototype is unique. It would have been a Lamborghini model - provocative as all the best Lambos - if AUDI-VW hadn't buy the firm at the end of 1998.
THE FAMOUS JAPANESE MAGAZINE "ROSSO" PRESENTS RARE LAMBORGHINIS OF THE AUTODROME COLLECTION
The famous luxury Japanese magazine ROSSO, specialising in classic cars, especially Lamborghini and Ferrari, was visiting Autodrome-Cannes a few months ago and has issued a long article on some of the "pearls" of the Lamborghini Autodrome collection (please click on the photos to open the 2 MB pdf document). The Lamborghini Motorcycle was not only the only Lamborghini bike in History, it was the most outrageous and expensive in the world, with high-tech racing features and hand-built quality. Only 5 in the world have survived today.. This one of course in the Autodrome Lamborghini Collection.

A UNIQUE COLLECTION OF CLASSIC LAMBORGHINIS FOR SALE AT AUTODROME:
LAMBORGHINI 400 GT 2+2, 1965, completely and perfectly restored - only 6000 km since then. Price : 145.000 €
This 400GT 2+2 is one of the very first ever built by Lamborghini. This top condition example is finished in medium silver grey with tobacco upholstery. It is believed that the car was sent back to the Factory in Italy to be overhauled in the late sixties, and then arrived in France in 1969, where it belonged to an Argentinian citizen living in Paris.
About fifteen years ago, this automobile was completely restored by Edmond Ciclet : engine, suspensions, brakes, including some discreet modifications of the rear suspension (rear triangles replaces by elements from the Miura S for better control), of the electric circuitry and also of the cooling system to improve effectiveness and reliability. The exhaust system is in stainless steel.
At the same period, the paintwork was also redone. This restoration was done in the nineties, but the car was driven only 6000 km since and is therefore today in excellent condition.
Only 220 Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2 have ever been built and less than 100 examples of the 350 GT. These early models are very famous for having established Lamborghini as the most serious challenger of Ferrari. Their price is ridiculous - but it won't last: this Gran Turismo is directly comparable to a Ferrari Daytona or 365 GTC, and has better performance (braking, road-holding) and the same legendary fame of being the best sports car that money could buy in the sixties.
LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH LP400, 1977: known history, bare metal bodywork restoration and new paintwork. [TOO LATE]
LAMBORGHINI Miura S, 1969, 25 years in the same hands, only 47,000 km (and mechanically restored 6,000 km ago). [TOO LATE]
LAMBORGHINI Countach Anniversario LHD, 1990, 6500 km, pristine, a unique opportunity. Visible in Paris. New price : 119.000€
Jarama S V12 - 1974, Golden Sand / 48.000 original km, exceptionally original condition, unique: 55.000 €.
LAMBORGHINI 1986 Design 90 Motorcycle, one of the five complete examples in the world, concours condition.
FERRARI 365 GTB/4 Daytona 1970, French Pozzi origin, plexi, red / black, full history, perfect condition:[TOO LATE].
AUTODROME PRESENTS THE FABULOUS RACING CD-PANHARD OF LE MANS 1964
The famous charity event "SPORT & COLLECTION, 300 FERRARI AGAINST CANCER" took place last week-end (1-2-3 june) on the Val-de-Vienne Circuit near Poitiers.
AUTODROME was presenting the CD-PANHARD LM64, one of the only two extraordinary prototypes having taken part in the 24 hours of Le Mans 1964, along with the Ford GT40, the Ferrari 275 P and GTO... A perfect opportunity to meet our clients and friends, and share our passion for classic and sports automobiles around this wonderful and famous racing car.
We had the pleasure to park side by side the fabulous CD-Panhard prototype built for Le Mans, and the production Panhard-CD : both cars
demonstrate the talent of Charles Deutsch, and engineer who took the Panhard-Levassor story one step ahead - a wonderful end to a Legend.
Our CD-Panhard on the track : taken over by a Ferrari prototype, driven by David Piper in person ! What more cold you dream of ?
A resurrection of a scene from the 24 Heures of Le Mans, with Ferrari (275, 330 P, LM), Ford GT, Cobra, and CD LM 64 as key players.
Another memorable scene, seen from the cockpit of the CD-Panhard LM64: we give way to a fabulous Ford GT40.
In the 1964 Le Mans race, the last Ford to retire driven by Phil Hill & Bruce Mc Laren retired roughly at the same time as our CD #45.

the Enzo or the F50, on of the "best of the best" in luxury sports cars. Contact us now for delivery Q3-2008.
A LAMBORGHINI 400 GT AUCTIONED AT 245.000 €
As we indicated recently, the very first Lamborghini V12 continue to gain value on the market. Thi 400 GT two-seater, also known as "Interim" (chassis 0526), has just been sold 245.000 € at Pebble-Beach . This rise of the best classic Lamborghini - Miura, then LP400, and now 350/400 GT, as well as the Islero (90.000 € at the last Bonhams sale in Monaco), is consistent with the parallel increase of the best classic Ferrari.
Time is ideal to seize the best opportunities, whilst the 350 & 400 GT are now rapidly rising to their legitimate and true market value.

The CD prototype of Le Mans 1964 now in our Collection.
Left, the CD of the 1964 Le Mans: one of the most memorable prototypes ever built. Charles Deutsch, the engineer who designed it, has founded the modern aerodynamics.
Right, the same year: the Ford GT 40 (Schlesser-Attwood) and the Maserati 151 (Simon-Trintignant), challenged the Ferrari 275 and 330 P.
This 1964 picture, taken just before the race, clearly shows the bold concept of the car and how far it was ahead of its time
The quality of construction is obvious, and the shapes are close to perfection, following the advanced theories of Charles Deutsch.
This car belongs to history and we are proud to present it in our Collection.

PASSION FOR CLASSICS : WHY A HANDFUL OF "OLD" AUTOMOBILES ARE SO SOUGHT AFTER...
The passion for Classic Cars is on the rise ; there are good reasons for this, based on objective factors:
- Buying a classic is a joy for everyday of your life: admiring and driving a fine car is a privilege, provided by the best egineers in History...
- The beauty of the classic shapes is unmatchable today, because of the safety rules, crash-test obligations and marketing dictatorship... Never more will car makers be able to offer such exquisite style.
- Classic Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Bentleys are still more affordable than new ones.... even though a brand-new car will loose half of its value by the next 5 years, whilst a classic's value can only rise. But this "opportunity market" will not last for long.
- There is much more demand than offer - and quite simply, that is why the price will only continue to rise, slowly but surely.
As a result, investing a classic car - provided that you can select the right models and one of the best examples available, is the best use that you could make of a reasonable amount of money: from 50.000 to 300.000 Euros, there are opportunities that it would be very wise to catch ...
Very similar to the famous art masters Cézanne, Picasso, Matisse, the greatest car makers of History have now disappeared (with rare exceptions such as Pagani) - very few have been decisive and quick enough to buy theese masters' paintings when they were still affordable.
One of the best examples if probably the very first Countach (LP400), much rarer and more important than the Miura (around 130 Countach LP400 still in existence, against over 600 Miura). The LP400 Countach is without any doubt one of the moste remarkable cars of the XX the Century, both by its History role for Lamborghini, for the GT cars History, and for its combination of outrageous, advanced styling with a state-of-the-Art engine and technical design. If you can buy one, don't hesitate even a second and don't let it go...

Autodrome clients demand exclusive automobiles, of the highest quality but also unusual ones. No wonder that precious encounters happen then...You only live once. Some individuals (not necessarily the richest ones) cannot stand to be lost in the crowd of banality, it's a matter of character - whether you have one or not. They just want to live up to their true expectations. One very special day, you see a car : it's this one and no other - you just need it.
For many educated people, it's a Classic car...
